If you're going to set off fireworks in Hawaii, you'll need a permit. That's surprising to me because they aren't required in my state, which seems to love permit regulations. Luckily, the permits are fairly affordable at $25 and can be purchased online. Obtaining a permit enables a person to buy up to 5,000 firecrackers. I wonder how many people meet the upper limit? If you're interested, you can read more about it here.

How does it work for you guys? If you want to ring in 2025 with fireworks, do you need to obtain a permit first?

I wonder if that law in Hawaii is really enforced, though. I say that because technically fireworks are illegal in my city. They're illegal to own, illegal to buy, and illegal to set off. That hasn't stopped anyone from buying and selling them, though. Firecrackers are a staple for most celebrations around here. I don't believe anyone has been fined for it.
