Attention Killeen residents in need of building permits and inspections: A new online system, MyGovernmentOnline, has been introduced by the city. This platform allows you to conveniently request inspections and apply for construction building permits online, streamlining the previous process. Applications submitted or permitted before October 1, 2023, will continue to use the existing Naviline system until completion. The shift to this online platform, as explained by City Manager Kent Cagle, aims to enhance permit tracking and ensure the payment of inspection fees, addressing previous issues where some developers inadvertently overlooked these fees. The new system offers several benefits, including a paperless online application, a projects list to monitor ongoing permits, and a feature for fee payments and inspection requests. Starting October 1, all permits must be processed through this new online platform. You can find more information about these changes and their potential impact on your projects here.

Kileen's new online permitting system is definitely a game changer for streamlining the process of permitting. From what I have seen, transition into the digital platform is a significant move and it will go a long way to reducing paperwork.
