Contractor suggests skipping out on permits for $50K Kitchen remodel, bad idea?

If you plan to sell of the property in the future, you should not take any chances. Any thing you do in your property, from small things like redoing electrical wiring, some renovation in the bathroom or massive remodeling in the kitchen, you need a permit. If you don't get a permit, you might save yourself from bureaucratic hassles as well as some money but you will end up paying all fees and fines when you try to sell the property in the future.
