I helped my sister work through the permitting process in West Virginia. She needed a permit to install a septic tank and she also needed to apply for a Septic Tank Seal Registration. I was able to obtain the information she needed over the phone. I think this is the first office that I've ever contacted that had such a short wait time. I must've waited no more than a minute before I was being helped. The lady I talked to was highly professional and knew her stuff. She was able to direct me to the proper forms and explain what information I'd need to provide. She patiently answered my questions in detail. I didn't feel rushed off the phone, which was refreshing. I really appreciate her for explaining the fee schedule to me as well. Overall, I had a good experience with the office.

Thanks for sharing! As far as public services go, there's no better metric than good reviews from the public in my opinion. Qualitative customer experience feedback is generally superior to quantitative measures (e.g., avg permitting times, etc) when it comes to measuring real-world permit office performance. Usually offices like this will have customer service surveys you can complete for them. If so, I highly recommend you fill one out to help WVDEP know what it's doing right, and to keep doing it.
